What to Look for When Searching Stores that Accept Affirm

Besides knowing which of your favorite stores currently accept Affirm, always keep an eye on shops that offer 0% APR rates. This implies that a store does not charge any interest for the shortest payment term offered (typically 3 or 6 months). Higher priced products are more likely to have longer 0% periods, going as long as 12 months, and in some unique cases even as long as 24 months!

Even if a store offers 0% APR, not all customers may qualify, depending on one’s credit worthiness. Also, 0% APR rates may not be available on all products enabled for Affirm within a given store.

Some stores may explicitly state which product categories are and are not eligible for deferred payments with Affirm. A good example of this type of helpful upfront transparency is Walmart. In their case, Home Improvement is one of their eligible categories. With Walmart and other marketplaces, also keep in mind that Affirm would not be available when purchasing products from third-party resellers.

Other types of restrictions placed on what can be purchased and where, include a minimum price threshold and specific retail channels. For example Staples has a $150 minimum price threshold and only accepts Affirm in their physical stores.

Geographic restrictions by state may also apply. For example Beautyrest does not currently accept Affirm in Iowa or West Virginia. Williams Sonoma also states that Affirm is not currently available in all states.

True to Affirm’s mission of providing easy to understand and transparent financing services, all pertinent details will be accessible a click away for the given item that you may be considering.
