A New Direction for a Legacy Show

The 2026 NHS Concept to Commerce tradeshow marked a bold pivot of the longtime National Hardware Show. While the traditional legacy format focused primarily on established brands, large manufacturers, and retail buyers placing seasonal orders, this year’s reimagined show expanded its mission to support the entire product journey—from concept to commercialization.

The new format united retailers, brands, manufacturers, distributors, inventors, private-label developers, and global factories under one roof. Dedicated pavilions for emerging brands, global sourcing, and inventors, along with targeted programming on prototyping and speed-to-market, aimed to help innovators connect directly with specialty partners needed to succeed.

We applaud the show’s commitment to elevating inventors and entrepreneurs. In an industry where small innovators often struggle for visibility, creating space for fresh ideas is both necessary and refreshing. It aligns closely with Purgula’s passion for discovering forward-thinking innovators and their emerging products early, while giving encouragement that they are headed in the right direction.

As a first-year iteration, the show certainly delivered an exciting sense of discovery. While the strong emphasis on early-stage innovation is admirable, we hope next year’s event will include greater numbers of product innovators from larger, well-established brands, as well.
