The National Hardware Show (NHS) is a spectacular home improvement tradeshow held the first quarter each year in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the primary purpose of showcasing a wide range of innovative home products for both indoor and outdoor applications.
One of our favorite industry events, NHS features the latest generation of products for the home — such as barbecue grills, fire pits, outdoor furniture, gardening solutions, home maintenance solutions, hardware tools, painting solutions, and backup generators — along with a variety of new products launched by companies of all types and sizes, including individual inventors.
Keeping up with industry innovators in the Inventors Area is our favorite reason for attending this show, as some of the most ingenious products are introduced by product creators of every ilk. It was here that we met one of our favorite products last year, Aerobroom, which had a gangbuster year, having sold out all of its inventory!
With the effervescent, always energetic Kathryn Emery co-emceeing, along with the witty Kevin O’Connor, of This Old House, the event culminates in a prestigious awards ceremony for various superlative categories that also includes the Retailers’ Choice Awards selected by judges from the North American Hardware and Paint Association (NHPA). The United Inventors Association (UIA), another key partner of NHS, adds their own awards ceremony to the mix.
As the official show hosts and producers had their favorites, so did Purgula. We had a difficult time keeping our Best of NHS 2025 list to only 15 products, however, as there were so many worthy contenders.

We’ve been familiar with the Flex Seal brand for a long time, as company CEO pitch man, and founder, Phil Swift has an iconic voice that harkens memories and bizarre images. Perhaps the most memorable is that of Swift floating in a boat made of newspaper that has been coated with the company’s best-selling product Flex Paste, a thick, paint-on, rubberized sealant that is a miracle cure for homeowners.
Flex Seal’s myriad of adhesive bonding products are well-known, quite frankly because they are effective, even in the most bizarre of circumstances. Flex Seal has gained attention for its television advertising, including a popular advertisement where Swift bisects a boat hull, repairs it with Flex Tape, and successfully drives it on a lake without taking on water!
Flex Caulk is a convenient alternative to a caulk gun, Flex Tape is a waterproof tape and Flex Glue is a fix-all adhesive, the latter of which we can attest works better than Gorilla Glue.

Perhaps one of the most versatile product lines at NHS is from Heatmax/Kobayashi Consumer Products. We were quite impressed when learning that the Defend camera line was launched after Tactacam listened to their existing customers regarding how they were using Tactacam’s Reveal hunting cameras. In short, Tactacam discovered hunting cameras were being used extensively for remote security applications.
