Netflix certainly has an abundance of high-quality cooking and food shows available for passionate home chefs to enjoy. They have so many, in fact, that it was necessary for us to break out their best baking shows into a separate list.

Bake Squad
This new series is a baking competition show that does not feel like a competition show, as the contestants genuinely get along and are supportive of each other. Each episode has the four expert bakers competing to win the business of a client who is planning a special event, with highly inventive concoctions. The client picks one design from the four options, which will then be made for their occasion. Viewers tend to enjoy the nice and friendly vibes of the show, a nice diversion from the many prevalent hyper-competitive alternatives.

Baking Impossible
This highly inventive baking competition show features teams of one baker and one engineer that are tasked with “bake-building” creations that must taste delicious, as well as be able to survive intense engineering stress tests, in a quest to win $100,000.

Blue Ribbon Baking Championship
Blue Ribbon Baking Championship is the latest baking competition show from Netflix, premiering August 9, 2024. The contest showcases the best blue-ribbon-winning bakers from 10 states across the U.S., all who were awarded their blue ribbons at highly competitive state fairs. The goal of competing contestants is to win the coveted Best in Fair Blue Ribbon and $100,000.
Throughout the show, participating bakers will be challenged to rethink iconic state fair foods and specialty ingredients. Contestants will certainly be baking plenty of cakes and pies, among other treats.
Judging “it all” is Sandra Lee, an Emmy-winning chef and blue ribbon recipient, as well. She is assisted by host Jason Biggs, and two co-judges: award-winning artist and baker Bryan Ford, and Bill Yosses, a former White House pasty chef.

The Chef Show: Baking Episodes
Extra Helpings with Candace Nelson: Season 1, Volume 3, Episode 6
Beginning just after the 15:00 mark of the episode, Candace Nelson, the founder of Sprinkles, walks hosts Jon and Roy through her Pizzana Chocolate Olive Oil Cake recipe.
Milk Bar Bake Sale: Season 2, Volume 1, Episode 1
At Milk Bar in Los Angeles, chef Christina Tosi teaches hosts Jon and Roy how to “take back the bake sale” with her elevated preparations of cookies, pies and cakes.
Tartine: Season 2, Volume 1, Episode 4:
Chefs Chad Robertson of Tartine and Chris Bianco of Pizzeria Bianco take hosts Jon and Roy through their respective intricate processes for baking artisan bread.

Chef’s Table: Pastry, Season 4
Season 4 of the Emmy-nominated series, Chef’s Table explores the world of pastry through the eyes of four stellar and uniquely creative pastry chefs: Christina Tosi (New York), Corrado Assenza (Sicily), Jordi Roca (Spain), and Will Goldfarb (Bali).

The Great British Baking Show
A long-running, extremely popular cooking competition show that has amateur bakers facing three challenges per episode, encompassing 10 weeks per season, in hopes of being named the UK’s best amateur baker. Viewers love the easy-going, good natured tone of the show, as well as the friendliness of the contestants. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith are likely the two most respected and likeable baking judges in all of “reality baking TV-dom”. Their feedback is always genuine, constructive and encouraging. Constestants know that when they receive high praise it is well deserved!
“Collection 12” premiered on September 27, 2024, releasing a new episode each subsequent Friday, for a total of 10 episodes. The season finale will be available on Friday, November 29. Co-host Alison Hammond, who was introduced in “Collection 11”, continues with the show.

The Great British Baking Show: Holidays
Amateur bakers who competed in previous seasons of the Great British Baking Show are invited back to compete in the end-of-year holiday baking competition to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith. One episode involves Christmas-themed challenges, while the other involves New Years-themed exercises.

Is It Cake?
An unusual hybrid of a show that is part baking competition, game show and hyperrealism art exhibit. We are most intrigued by the incredible creative possibilities of cakes realistically impersonating anything but cakes. If this topic grabs your interest, be sure to check your local market for “hyper-realistic cakes” – it’s a thing.

The Great British Baking Show: Juniors
The Great British Baking Show: Juniors (known as Junior Bake Off in the UK) is the youth-focused spinoff of the immensely popular The Great British Baking Show. The junior version features Britain’s most talented young bakers who compete to impress a panel of judges with cakes, biscuits, breads and more. Season6 is currently available on Netflix.

Nadiya Bakes
This cheerful baking show is hosted by Nadiya Hussain, the season 6 winner and fan favorite of The Great British Baking Show (AKA The Great British Bake Off), which aired in the fall of 2015. In this series, Nadiya shares her favorite homemade cakes and pastries, as well as new recipes inspired by other bakers she admires.

School of Chocolate
This new baking competition show from Netflix features eight top pastry and chocolate professionals that attend the School of Chocolate to take their skills and careers to the next level. Their mentor is world-renowned chocolatier Amaury Guichon, known globally for creating mind-blowing chocolate showpieces and unbelievable pastries. One student will be deemed ‘Best in Class‘ after eight episodes and will be awarded a prize package that includes a career-changing opportunity.
